The 2019 Tokyo Motor Show will go down in Mazda history as the location for the global unveiling of its first mass-production electric vehicle. Mazda MX-30 is the third new-generation Mazda model and is a bold and expressive evolution of the Mazda Kodo – Soul of Motion design language.
EVOLUTIONARY ENGINEERING
Consistent with the human-centric philosophy that’s inherently part of Mazda engineering, Mazda MX-30 gives the driver the same innate sense of oneness with the car and pure driving joy that Mazda is known for.
Mazda MX-30 adopts Mazda’s new electric-drive technology, e-Skyactiv, and combines outstanding response with smooth, dynamic behaviour to achieve a level of driving enjoyment never before felt in an EV.
A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON DESIGN
The first ever Mazda designed by a female, Mazda MX-30 is alive with fresh thinking. The luxurious and spacious cabin uses many environmentally conscious materials such as cork and fabrics made from recycled materials and are used in ways that bring out their natural appeal. The new freestyle doors are a striking design feature that enable the passengers to access the car in all new ways.
THE FUTURE STARTS NOW
The first foray into electric vehicles, Mazda MX-30 is a significant leap forward for the Mazda brand, bringing it closer to the long-term vision laid out in 2017 as part of Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030. This vision, that began with the launch of the revolutionary Skyactiv-X engine, aims to create a more sustainable future for the earth, society and people through enhancing the environmental and safety performance of its vehicles. Mazda MX-30 promises to be the shape of even more to come.
